¡Hoy es el Día Pro Bono a nivel internacional! ¿Utopía o no?

Parece que en España o en Estados Unidos no van a celebrar este día internacional. Llevo dos días buscando información relevante en ambos países, pero no he encontrado nada. ¡Rusia si que esta celebrando! Me ha parecido tan interesante la idea de “día Pro Bono”, que he decidido traducir un artículo que recibí en mi cuenta de facebook de una amiga moscovita. Tenia que compartir el articulo y marcar oficialmente la fiesta internacional de alguna manera! El articulo es de la revista rusa “Snob” , por cierto bastante interesante, con mucha interacción constructiva. ¿Qué haré yo por la sociedad? Os cuento al final de la entrada. Por favor perdonar los fallos gramáticos! Español no es mi lengua materna/paterna (estoy en ello) y no soy escritora.

Hoy, 17 de febrero, todo el mundo celebrará el Día Pro Bono. Como proyecto destinado a unir a la gente para quien la profesión - una parte importante y significativa de su vida - "Snob" (periódico digital ruso - http://www.snob.ru) ofrece todo el día libre de utilizar sus habilidades profesionales con el fin de hacer del mundo un sitio mejor. 

Hemos denominado a esta manifestación “el Día Pro Bono”. La expresión Pro Bono significa "para el beneficio de la sociedad." Cuando un especialista dice que está haciendo tal o cual trabajo pro bono, por lo general tiene en mente no hacer uso de sus habilidades profesionales por dinero, sino también para su gente cercana. 

Los médicos pueden curar al un paciente pro bono, y los abogados pueden dar consejos legales pro bono a aquellos que no pueden permitírselo. Pero muchos de nosotros por lo general ni siquiera pensamos en lo que podríamos hacer pro bono. Creemos firmemente que una persona de cualquier profesión podría hacer mucho para el mundo exterior, incluso solo con una hora de su tiempo libre. Por ejemplo, nuestros colegas programadores han pensado en este día ayudar con la configuración de los ordenadores en varias escuelas de Moscú, los escritores están considerando la posibilidad de realizar talleres gratuitos, los diseñadores podrían ayudar con los problemas de imagen de una serie de organizaciones benéficas. El día Pro Bono es también una ocasión para reflexionar sobre lo que nosotros, como profesionales, podemos hacer por el mundo, por la sociedad. 

¿Qué puedes hacer en tu hora libre? 

Vamos a hablar de esto con los participantes del proyecto en los blogs temáticos. A partir de hoy en los blogs surgirán materiales, donde esperamos tus comentarios con una historia sobre tus planes para el Día Pro Bono. Y nosotros aquí, en este espacio, publicaremos los enlaces a estas publicaciones.

Nueva funcionalidad aporta mayor transparencia al Ranking MBA (inglés)

Over the years, Bloomberg Businessweek has been criticized for a lack of transparency concerning our ranking methodology. So in an effort to be responsive to those complaints, we recently made a change to the interactive tables we published on Nov. 11, as part of our ranking of full-time MBA programs.

The changes are in both the U.S. table and the International table. If you click on the links you’ll notice a new column of data, labeled “Index Number.” The index number represents the sum total of all the factors used to calculate the final ranking. To make it easier to understand, we’ve standardized this number, which means that the No. 1 school will always have an index number of 100 and all lower-ranked schools will have a proportionally lower index number.
